Transportation of equipment and large segments built for the Ston bridge on the route of the access road to the Pelješac bridge has begun in Brodosplit.

The barge 'Golia' and the tug 'Storione' will transport the segments from the shipyard in Split to the port at the construction site. It is planned to first transport the heavy scaffolding for the supports of the bridge structure and the 750-ton crane 'Brodosplit' Manitowoc to the construction site. This crane will be used to install the segments into the bridge structure. It will take three trips to transport all the segments, with two segments being transported to the construction site on each trip.

The 485-meter bridge will connect two tunnels across Ston Bay. It is 40 meters high and consists of five pillars and two abutments. The entire section consists of only six segments, which are built-in large, air-conditioned industrial sheds and transported by sea, making the quality and durability of such a structure much higher than when several smaller segments are built.

Brodosplit has already proven itself in similar tasks such as the construction of bridge components on the Vc corridor near Osijek, as well as in the construction of the Čiovo bridge, for which we built, delivered, and assembled the span structure in record time. With the Ston bridge and the Prapratno viaduct project, delivered and assembled last summer, Brodosplit continues its positioning in the market niche of large iron structures.
