IDEX is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.  As part of the IDEX fair, the 7th maritime defense fair and maritime security exhibition, the largest in the region, NAVDEX 2023, is also being held.

65 countries and more than 1,350 exhibitors are participating in the 165,000 m2 exhibition space at the fair, and Shipyard of special facilities Ltd also presented its products and achievements.

We developed a fast attack ship FAV 250 and at this fair we have the premiere of a new product, said Darko Pappo, a member of the Management Board of the DIV Group, within which shipyard operates. Regarding the marketing of new products, Darko Pappo emphasized that it is important to obtain export permits and necessary approvals from the competent institutions in a timely manner for the contracted export of ships, and that it is not always easy to obtain them.

At the fair, special facilities shipyard presented its technology transfer program and military program, especially the project of an offshore patrol ship-corvette and a coastal patrol ship for the protection of internal sea waters and for combat and logistical support tasks, which was delivered for the client the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Croatia in 2018.

The coastal patrol vessel 'Omiš', has significantly improved the capabilities of Croatian Navy Forces with its technical equipment and navigational characteristics. It is particularly effective in adverse weather conditions, i.e. strong storms and high seas, which is why the coast guard with the patrol ship 'Omiš', which is equipped with an active stabilization system that enables the ship to be fully operational, is also called in for search and rescue operations in sea state 4 and compliance with NATO criteria for seaworthiness (STANAG 4154), which proved to be a key capability in strong storms.
