A foresection off a passenger cruiser, whose construction will be continued in Ancona in one of Fincantieri's Italian shipyards, was lounched on the slipway no. 1 at Shipbuilding industry Split.

It is a mega block with a total length of 110 meters, a width of 28 meters, a height of 19.25 meters and a displacement of 4,400 tons, where the size and importance of the work done may be financially compared to construction of a ferry.

Zorka Penović, a member of the Finance Department who spent 41 years in Brodosplit's service, was given the honor to become the ship's godmother, and as such she cutt a champagne rope and symbolically “lounched“ the newbuilding into the sea.

The mega block includes a bulbous bow and a lower part of the bow where are incorporated two thrusters, ballast and fuel tanks and bilges of black and gray water. The hull structure has five decks with ready preparations for the installation of passenger cabins and interiors. Complete pipelines, cable runs and all other equipment have been installed.

- Until now, more than 10,000 tons of equipped sections (mega blocks) for passenger cruisers have been delivered to one of the largest shipbuilding groups in the world, the Fincantieri group, with which Brodosplit has been cooperating for years. Brodosplit is constantly engaged in pursuing the Italian satisfaction in terms of quality, possibilities, competitive bids and delivery deadlines and we are confident that our long-term quality cooperation for mutual satisfaction will carry to new deals between our companies - said Tomislav Debeljak, CEO of Brodosplit.
