Brodosplit exhibit at IDEX defense exhibition

International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) 2017 held in Abu Dhabi, UAE, from 19 and 23 February. It is the largest naval defense tradeshow in the world and the only international defense exhibition and conference in the MENA region (The Middle East and North Africa) demonstrating the latest technology across the land, sea and air sectors of defense.

This year 1,200 companies from 57 countries are participating in IDEX, and its products on its own exhibition space offer the Shipbuilding Industry Split Inc.

IDEX is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

Brodosplit is presenting his program to transfer technology and navy program, especially the latest product, a coastal patrol boat that is completely designed and manufactured by Croatian companies. "The design is ideal for exporting because it can be adapted to the buyer's needs. Considering the experience and expertise that Brodosplit is known for in the region, we thought that the exhibition was an excellent opportunity to establish relations with potential clients," Brodosplit's Executive Vice President Darko Pappo said.

The boat is 43 m long, with an 8-m beam and can reach the speed of 28 knots and is very capable of pursuit. It has a large navigational range and can stay at sea for ten days with 14 crew members. The basic purpose of this boat is patrolling for the sake of supervision and protection of national interests at sea. It will be used as support to island population and in search and rescue sea operations. In war times coastal patrol boats are used for protection of internal waters and fighting and logistics support tasks.
