Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor visited Brodosplit, agreed new deals

- For us this is a day of pride because effort and knowledge are recognized, and difficulties in connection with Brodosplit are overcame. I believe that the other shipyard will get a confirmation and that Croatia will join the European Union as a country with a strong shipbuilding industry with which we can be proud and which will be extremely important lever in economic development, said Kosor.

Representatives of Brodosplit Shipyard and shipping company Jadroplov from Split, in the presence of Prime Minister, signed a letter of intent for building two ships - bulk carriers.

- Government's desire is that Brodosplit build ships for Navy and Coast Guard. Currently, we have plans to build those ships by the model of 'one plus four', and we believe that this project can be realized in the Split shipyard, she said.

CEO of Brodosplit Srđan Kovač expressed satisfaction that the Split shipyard showed the maturity and seriousness, and finally came to the finish. He said the time of waiting on decision was used for the preparation of certain contracts.

- The bright future is in front of Brodosplit, but also a difficult task that we must do, concluded Kovač.
