According to the contract with Strabag AG and the investor Hrvatske ceste d.o.o., since the beginning of this year, partially completed segments have been consolidated in the Split shipyard, which Brodosplit has taken over from the previous contractors. According to the contract the segments should be fabricated, protected from corrosion and installed connecting two coasts this way.

The bridge steel construction consists of totally 14 superstructures, of which the most demanding one is the central part on which hydraulic mechanisms for lifting the central part of the bridge will be built. They are installed on the supporting pillars and by welding connected into a single unit.

With yesterday's embarkment the transport of the first superstructure completely made in Brodosplit has been carried out, although Brodosplit workers have already installed four mega segments on the construction site, and by mid-May, all segments of the future Čiovo Bridge will be delivered and installed.

Brodosplit's float crane 'Marjanka' has already performed a number of demanding operations due to its features such as launching ships, coastal works, building marinas, setting up blocks in the sea.Regularly maintained, although built back in 1964, it can lift a load of one hundred tonnes and receive up to 250 tonnes on the stern platform.

Brodosplit’s experience in the bridge construction has been confirmed recently with the construction of 420-meter long steel bridge construction over the Drava River in Osijek. With this project, Brodosplit has proved it can offer and build all types of special steel structures including OFFSHORE constructions according to the customer's requirements.
