Ambassador of the United States Visited Brodosplit

Split, 23 October 2018 - Ambassador of the United States in Croatia, Robert W. Kohorst accompanied by Gregory J. O’Connor, Commercial Attaché visited Split Shipbuilding Industry on Tuesday, October 23.

US Ambassador was welcomed by Chairman of the board of Brodosplit Tomislav Debeljak and Board Member and CEO Zoran Kunkera, who informed him about current activities, projects and investments whose aim is to position Brodosplit as the best shipyard in Europe.

He was particularly impressed after visiting 'Hull 483', the world's largest sailing ship, in the company of Brodosplit Project Managers. After successful inspections of all passenger and crew areas by U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) the competence of all shipyard representatives involved in this impressive project was highlighted.

The construction of the most luxurious cruise ship for polar regions built in the Polar Class 6 (Polar Expedition Cruise Vessel), whose contract was signed with Quark Expeditions from Seattle, USA, which is a member of Travelopia group was specially emphasized. The ship will be 128 meters long and able to accommodate 200 passengers taken cared of by 116 crew members in 103 luxuriously-equipped cabins.
